Maye Hosts Cherubim and Seraphim Leaders, Becomes Grand Patron of TUCC&S

Revealing the purpose of their visit, the Deputy Archbishop of TUCC&S and the Bishop of Edo Diocese, Right Revd Oniwaya extolled the many virtues, qualities and astounding records and successes which made the Maye stand out and made the Council of Bishops of the TUCC&S to appoint him as the Grand Patron of the Church.
He expressed optimism that with his appointment as the Grand
Patron, the Maye will use his resources and influence to move the Church to the
next level especially in the areas of evangelism, organisation of crusades and
camp ground.
Earlier in his speech the Primate and Archbishop of the United Church of Cherubim and Seraphim-TUCC&S, His Spiritual Eminence, Most Revd. (Dr) Ebenezer Durojaiye Adereti disclosed that the position of the Grand Patron had been vacant for some time even before he became the primate and it had been his desire that such a position should be given to an Ife son.
He expressed his gladness that when he nominated Dr Adedoyin, both the Council and all the people who were contacted to pray about it accepted him.

In his acceptance speech, the Maye of Yoruba land, His Royal Eminence, Dr AbdulRahaman Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin emphasised the importance of giving, using different experiences he had with the late Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Okunade Sijuwade from whom he learnt the art and act of philanthropy.
While thanking the entire Council for counting him worthy of the position of the Grand Patron, Adedoyin, who is a Muslim narrated his experience of how Christians and Muslims were leaving and worshipping together in peace when he and his wife, who is a Christian and founder of a church, visited Jerusalem on a pilgrimage and wondered why Nigerians could not also practice the same religious tolerance
He used the occasion to announce a yearly 2 million naira
scholarship award to any qualified applicant selected by the church to study at
Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government as well as the award
of honourary doctorate degree from Our Saviors’ University to a member of the Church.

Also in her remark, the Yeye Maye and wife of Dr Adedoyin, Chief (Mrs.) Olufunmilayo Iyabode Adedoyin gave thanks to God and noted “we owe everything in life to God.” She also expressed her appreciation to TUCC&S for bestowing such an honour on her husband.
